Rwandan Police: Learning the Public Relations Ropes

Twenty Rwandan police officers recently took part in a two-day public relations workshop organized by the Rwanda National Police (RNP)and the Association of Public Relations Officers.

A story posted on AllAfrica said the training would teach participants about various pieces of public relations, from writing press releases to crisis management, in order to promote a “much more active public relations department.”

“As partners in the media domain, the RNP recognizes the global news environment, so we seek to build a strong team of public relations professionals to ensure effective representation of our institution in the media and the court of public opinion,” said Eric Kayiranga, spokesperson for the RNP.
