Roll Call: Weber Shandwick, Carmichael Lynch Spong, IHI, and More

Angela Wonson has joined Weber Shandwick as EVP of healthcare media. She will be based in New York, reporting to Barbara Box, president of the New York and Chicago healthcare practice. Previously Wonson was SVP of the national health media practice at Edelman. Wonson has 20 years of experience including comms work at NBC and other organizations. Angela Miller has joined the New York office as senior counselor working on media relations strategy for clients Trane and Sherwin-Williams. Prior to joining the firm, she was an account supervisor at Fleishman-Hillard. And Meredith Kisch has joined as senior media relations manager working with Martek Biosciences, H&R Block, and Lutron. She was previously a senior account supervisor at Hill & Knowlton. The Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) has a new VP for marketing and communications, effective June 13. Gail Ockerbloom Freeman will join to work with senior management on PR, marketing, publications, and other areas. She was previously a senior director and senior manager of marketing at RSA, the security division of EMC. She's also worked with Wellspace and Microsoft. Richard Knafelc has joined Synaptic Digital as VP of clients solutions. He was previously an account manager at PR Newswire. The client solutions department also has a new director, Christopher Jordan, who joins from Critical Mention. And Sharon Fraade joins the client solutions team from a producer position within the company. John Thomas has been promoted to associate media director at Media Storm, leading the digital media strategy for clients including FX Networks and Sony Television. He was previously a supervisor in the Norwalk office. Tim Marklein has joined WCG as its technology practice leader. Part of his responsibility will be to grow the analytics group, which provides social media and digital data, an area that WCG's CEO Jim Weiss says has received a number of inquiries. Marklein was head of Weber Shandwick's measurement and strategy practice and has led the global PR group at HP's enterprise business. [via PRWeek]
