Lori Robinson will join Carmichael Lynch Spong effective April 4 as senior principal and director of the New York office. Robinson will be responsible for client oversight, marketing, operations, staffing, and business development. She'll report to firm MD Julie Batliner. Prior to this move, she was SVP, director of marketing and business development at Hill & Knowlton. Liz Engel has joined Glover Park Group as MD in the government affairs practice. Engel was most recently deputy assistant secretary for legislation at the Department of Health and Human Services, working with the HHS and members of Congress on issues including Medicare. She also served on the President Obama's transition team. Scott Miller joins the University of Virginia College and Graduate School of Arts and Science as director of communications overseeing development, communications strategy, and working with the public affairs office on the College's messaging. Miller was formerly VP of comms at Time Warner and spent 13 years as a member of the company's senior communications team. Brenda Bell has been named regional director in Business Wire's Denver office. She joined the company in 2006 and spent 18 years with PR Newswire. StyleCaster, a style and fashion digital company, has added Samir Balwani as director of digital marketing and Shannon Askinasi as director of integrated marketing. Previously, Balwani was a digital marketing strategist at Morpheus Media and PMK*BNC. Askinasi was previously senior manager of integrated marketing at Break Media. Zoom Media and Marketing has appointed Dan Rosenfeld to a newly-created position -- director of research and insights. He will head all U.S. measurement and campaign assessment studies. Most recently, he was manager of program and market research for the History Channel. AllThingsD reports that Groupon president Rob Solomon is resigning. A new service,Groupon Now, is about to launch, and an IPO is under consideration. It's unclear what prompted his departure. Sad news to report: Chester Burger, a PR pro known for his work in the broadcast space, died on March 22 at the age of 90 following a brief illness. And Gary Dunlap, EVP and head of crisis and issues at Edelman passed away March 17 at the age of 57 after a battle with cancer.
