Come on now, The Sporting News. Was the Ralph Lauren getup revealed on TODAY really so bad?

On the one hand, the brand was smart enough not to repeat 2012’s Made in China PR failure.

In short, a consensus has been reached on the “grandma’s way-too-busy ugly Christmas sweater” tip.

We’re not too up-to-date on fashion, but you know you’ve scored a “meh” when even Carson Daly responds with “But the boots, you guys!”

One thing worth noting: the move to “Made in America” wasn’t cheap, as Ralph Lauren explained to USA Today. That bipolar sweater will run you about…oh, $600.
