Panel: Arizona Should Hire PR Firm To Counter Immigration Bill Fallout

Arizona continues to deal with fallout from the passage of its new immigration bill, SB 1070. The bill, which goes into effect July 29, makes it a state crime to be in the country illegally.

Now, the state is considering spending up to $280,000 on PR to counteract bad press.

A tourism “task force” recommended to Gov. Jan Brewer this week that the state, “hire a public-relations firm to develop and disseminate a fact sheet on the law,” according to the Arizona Republic.
