Omnicom Group announced this morning that it has acquired Marina Maher Communications, which specializes in marketing to women. The firm was founded in 1983 by Marina Maher, who will stay on as CEO. MMC clients have included Cover Girl, Oneida, and Aussie, the hair products company. Among the firm’s specialties are consumer, health and wellness, and social media.
Omnicom recently announced a 12.9 percent increase in revenue for Q3 2011 and PR revenue of $307.1 million. MMC will become part of Omnicom’s Diversified Agency Services group (DAS). Other Omnicom PR firms include Ketchum and Fleishman-Hillard. Just a couple of weeks ago, Omnicom took a majority stake in India’s Mudra Group.
