Newsweek Scores Obama Byline

Newsweek Editor Jon Meacham just made the decision to move Google’s exit from China off the next cover, in favor of an essay about the Haiti disaster by President Barack Obama. Meacham called and asked strategist David Axelrod, who got his boss to agree according to an unnamed source reference in a Wall Street Journal blog post. The move is the ultimate example of the newsweekly’s move to secure high profile contributions.

Look for a strong piece from the White House as attention veers away from healthcare reform for the moment.
