Newspaper Circulation Numbers Drop

The Audit Bureau of Circulations is reporting a five percent drop in average weekday circulation at 635 U.S. daily newspapers, reports Dow Jones Newswires. The findings covered the six-month period ending in September. Newsday and the San Francisco Chronicle saw their circ numbers tumble 12 percent and 11 percent, respectively.

The Wall Street Journal kept it’s position up top with a circulation of 2.1 million copies in print and through online subscriptions, a 1.8 percent increase year-over-year.
