NBC News has made a number of changes to its marketing and comms department. Among them, Jeremy Cohen joined the team last week as senior creative director from Thomson Reuters where he was global head of onscreen brand development and promotion. And Jennifer Boardman is now senior director of marketing. She was previously senior director of marketing for CNN and HLN.

I am pleased to announce some exciting new additions and movement within the NBC News Marketing and Communications Department:
Jeremy Cohen started at NBC News last week as Senior Creative Director. Jeremy will oversee NBC News’ creative services department. He comes to us from Thomson Reuters where he was the Global Head of OnScreen Brand Development and Promotion. Prior to that, he spent 10 years at CNN, most recently as their Director of News Promotion.
Jennifer Boardman has joined our department as Senior Director, Marketing. Jennifer comes to NBC News from CNN, where she’s worked for the past decade most recently as Senior Director, Marketing for CNN and HLN. Here she ran the off-channel marketing team and oversaw the creation of award-winning marketing outreaches for Anderson Cooper 360, Black In America and CNN=Politics, among others. Jennifer will lead NBC News marketing arm and will build a team of brand managers to support our shows, digital assets and strategic initiatives.
Erika Masonhall will manage the communications for “NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams,” “Meet the Press,” and the political unit. Erika brings a wealth of talent and experience from her years as press secretary for Senator Joseph Lieberman.
Meghan Pianta has been promoted to Publicist and will support Erika on Nightly News and MTP publicity. Meghan will continue her tremendous work with NBC Learn, TheGrio.com, NBC News special projects, internal relations, and serve as support to the entire communications department.
Megan Kopf, who has been smart, strategic, and a bit of a juggler while overseeing the press, publicity and communications for TODAY has earned a promotion to Director. She will continue to work on the broadcast.
Monica Lee will be returning to the communications department, where she had once worked. Prior to that she worked in news production at TODAY for two years after serving as an NBC Page. Monica will assist Megan with TODAY, she will also assist me with the communications efforts for NBC News special projects and series, as well as internal relations.
Ashley McCollum will continue as our team Coordinator. While one would think that supporting our team would be enough, Ashley will now additionally lend a hand to Ryan Osborn’s social media team, working with Ryan and Anthony Quintano as they continue their impressive and innovative work in this arena.
Please join me in congratulating Megan, Meghan and Ashley, welcoming Jeremy, Jennifer and Erika to NBC News – and a welcome back to Monica. They are joining a tremendously talented team and I look forward to each of their contributions to the news division as we continue to grow and build on NBC News’ position of strength.
