Kristen Bell Says the Paps are Leaving Her Alone After 'No Kids Policy'

Kristen Bell can be seen these days in heavy rotation in a Samsung commercial with hubby Dax Shepard. One place you won't be seeing her (or her child), however, is plastered all over the tabloids. Earlier this year, the actress launched a "No Kids Policy" against the paparazzi, and strongly pressing people to boycott magazines that run pictures of celebrity children. She launched the campaign despite passage of a bill in California that was meant to curb overzealous paps. That bill had the support of big names like Jennifer Garner and Halle Berry. It looks like Bell's campaign is doing just as much to change paparazzi culture as the law. Bell says that with her second pregnancy she's being harassed much less. "The response has been so overwhelming that it's really almost a moral stance that the consumer demanded their publications take," Bell told the AP. "We're all consuming healthier media now." A number of other celebs signed on to the policy as well, and they're also saying they're being bothered much less when they're out with their kids. Bell framed this, not just as a media issue, but a family issue. She goes on to say that this was really about "responsible parenting" and "child welfare," a clear cut case of right and wrong. People tend to get very annoyed when celebs talk about their privacy and the encroaching masses. Bell managed to avoid this by making it less about privacy (although it is) and more about what's best for children, who are famous by default and association. Besides that, there is something hella creepy about hiding in the bushes and snapping pictures of little kids playing and just living life. Add to it all the fact that Bell (and her husband) were passionate and really vocal on the issue. She's well-loved for characters from Elsa in Frozen to Veronica Mars and House of Lies. And to see her and Shepard go hard when facing down the owner of one of these paparazzi agencies, you couldn't help but to fist pump a bit for them. Image via Twitter
