Gowalla Going to Facebook

Gowalla, the other Foursquare, allowing for mobile check-ins, etc., has announced that it’s heading to Facebook. The service will terminate at the end of January. The Gowalla blog has said explicitly, “Facebook is not acquiring Gowalla’s user data.” Rather, they will provide users with a way to export their data.

In addition, Facebook tells Techcrunch that the social network isn’t acquiring Gowalla’s technology, but will rather serve as an “inspiration.” The company’s founders Josh Williams and Scott Raymond and a few team members will continue on with Facebook.
