Government Chooses Nine Graphic Anti-Smoking Images

The image at left is one of nine warning labels that the Food and Drug Administration has decided to add to cigarette packaging starting September 2012.

Late last year, the government was in the process of deciding which of a total 36 images it would add to cigarette packaging. The images are part of new legislation that gives the FDA the power to regulate tobacco products. The images will cover the the top half of both the front and back of cigarette packs.
