Fleishman's First Female Exec Dies at 84

Ruth Jacobson, the well connected former senior partner of Fleishman-Hillard died last week at the age of 84. She was the first female, and 16th hire at the now global Omnicom megafirm. She graduated from Northwestern’s Medill School of Journalism in 1955 and was nicknamed “Girl Friday” when she took the job in the same year.

Back then Fleishman was all about St. Louis, and Jacobson worked with the biggest names including a August Busch Jr.,
