Filibuster to the Top of the Twitter Trending List

In the wake of speculation over why #wikileaks hadn’t become a trending topic after all of the discussion surrounding the organization and its supporters, Twitter went on its blog to explain what it considers a trend and how to get to the top of the trending list.

“Put another way, Twitter favors novelty over popularity,” the post says.
