Comcast Accepting Proposals for Additional Networks Targeting Minorities

Hot on the heels of News Corp.’s announcement that they would be launching Fox Hispanic Media, Comcast has announced that it is accepting proposals to add 10 minority-owned and operated media channels targeting Hispanics and African-Americans. The first, which will be “American Latino operated and programmed in English,” will launch July 28, 2012.

The search fulfills part of a commitment made during the merger with NBCUniversal, which stated that the additions would be made over the next eight years.
