Let’s face it: Before our morning cup of coffee or tea, most of us are probably more gullible than we otherwise would be; it’s why April Fools Day pranks tend to be so hilariously successful first thing in the morning — the intended victims haven’t quite gotten their bearings yet, so it’s easy to throw them off kilter.
Apparently with this caffeine-deprived vulnerability in mind, the marketing team behind the soon-to-be-released remake of Carrie came up with a clever, elaborate prank to start spreading the word. The group rigged ‘Snice Cafe in New York City’s West Village with some special effects magic, hired some actors, and prepared to lure unsuspecting coffee-seekers into a telekinetic nightmare.

Personally, our favorite reactions are those of the construction worker, the lady who pulls out her smartphone to film the incident, and the very confused dog.
