Can Crocs Make a Comeback?

Here's a good lesson in brand extension.

Admitting that it had “spread itself ‘too thin'” by venturing into other areas of fashion, Crocs is trying to make a comeback by going back to basics. And by basics, we’re talking about the hideous colorful plastic-like shoes that everyone seemed to be wearing about 10 years ago.

“Its stock has lost over four-fifths of its value since a record high of $75 a share in 2007,” reports MarketWatch, noting that the stock price has rebounded 13 percent for the year so far and even got a $200 million investment from Blackstone.
