Apple's Response to Location-Tracking Controversy, Cont'd

Following yesterday’s crisis FAQ response to the controversy over Apple’s data-collecting “bug,” CEO Steve Jobs came out with a response of his own.

“We haven’t been tracking anybody. Never have. Never will,” he said in an interview, quoted by the New York Times.

He went on to say that “rather than run to the P.R. department,” the company conducted an investigation into what happened. Jobs said he and two other Apple execs, Philip Schiller, SVP of global product marketing, and Scott Forstall, the SVP of iPhone software, crafted the response.
