Apple's Buzz Takes A Hit, But Remains Strong

The New York Times‘ Nick Bilton asked yesterday, “Has Apple lost its cool?” Bilton referred to a number of recent issues, including the company’s response to a lost iPhone prototype, not allowing apps on its AppStore for “what seem like random reasons,” and the company’s general tone when responding to customer and media questions.

According to one survey, Apple’s “buzz” has cooled a bit, but it’s still strong.

The YouGov BrandIndex, a “daily consumer perception research service,” shows Apple has definitely lost some steam recently with the adult 18 – 34 demo, as one can see from the chart above.

The question asked of respondents to determine the buzz score is: “If you’ve heard anything about the brand in the last two weeks, was it positive or negative?”

However, while Apple has dipped, it is still above many brands.
