Sci-fi animated comedy Futurama, which debuted on Fox and now airs in originals on Comedy Central, has been sold into broadcast weekend syndication to the Tribune stations for a fall 2011 premiere. Cleared to date in 30 percent of the country, stations signing up for Futurama include New York/WPIX, Los Angeles/KTLA, Chicago/WCIU, Philadelphia/WPHL, Washington, D.C./WDCW, Dallas/KDAF, Houston/KIAH, Seattle/KCPQ and KMYQ, Miami/WSFL, Portland/KRCW, Indianapolis/WXIN and WTTV, Hartford/WTIC and WCCT, and New Orleans/WNOL.

“With renewed interest in the animated series, thanks to its successful return on Comedy Central, we felt this was the right time to offer broadcast stations this hilarious program,” said Paul Franklin, evp and general sales manager, Twentieth Television.
