LAS VEGAS R&R Partners, the agency that coined the phrase "What happens here stays here" for Las Vegas tourism initiatives, will remain on its showpiece the account for at least three more years.
The Las Vegas Convention & Visitors Authority awarded the shop a three-year contract with a three-year extension option, the agency said today.
The overall budget is $92 million per year, R&R said. Per Nielsen, the client spent $43 million in 2008 major measured media.
There was no proposal request, but R&R chief executive Billy Vassiliadis made a two-hour presentation to the tourism authority's board, which voted unanimously to retain the shop, which has handled the assignment for a decade, an agency rep said. (The board has the discretion to renew the contract with formal proposal requests.)
Recent spots for the client have attempted to rebrand hard economic times as "crazy times" calling for the kind of "crazy fun" Vegas can provide. One notable commercial was set in a hair salon during a particularly chaotic day. A still from that iteration is shown above.
