ATLANTA American Stock, a Florida company that is creating stock car racing memorabilia, has selected Flying Machine to help market the products.
The company was founded last year by racing enthusiast John W. Warner IV and recently introduced its first product, a four-DVD set detailing the history of Nascar. Other initial products include limited edition silkscreen posters.
The company first hired Flying Machine, a design agency based in New York, to develop the packaging for the DVD set. After completing that, American Stock retained the shop to design and produce the opening segment for the DVDs and create two television ads that began airing this week on Turner South network. Flying Machine also produced a companion book for the DVD set.
Micha Riss, co-founder and creative director at Flying Machine, said that he and his team immersed themselves in the history of stock car racing to complete the project.
"Defining American Stock's visual signature was a fascinating challenge," Riss said. "Every aspect of the company's identity is a reflection of racing's dynamic history, going back to the roots of American innovation and ingenuity, coupled with the distinct industrial design of the era that we adapted so it looks classically stylish today."
American Stock plans to introduce additional products this year, including collectibles and apparel.
