CHICAGO The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation has selected Duffy & Partners to develop a branding program for the organization, which is one of the largest funders of breast cancer research in the country.
The Minneapolis shop's assignment will include brand strategy, identity development, and marketing and communications materials as the organization heads toward its 25th anniversary in 2007.
"For more than 20 years, the Komen Foundation has worked diligently to ensure that we maintain our relevance and emotional connection with women and men everywhere who are impacted by breast cancer," said Chris Orzechowski, brand manager for the Komen Foundation, in a statement. "Because breast cancer knows no boundaries and resources are still needed to eradicate the disease, we are taking the opportunity now to work with Duffy & Partners to examine our brand and adapt and rejuvenate if that's what it takes to continue to make the greatest impact."
Nancy Brinker founded the Dallas-based organization in 1982 to honor her sister, who had died of breast cancer at age 36. The organization has raised more than $700 million to help find a cure for the disease.
