DETROIT Two TV spots for the Hummer H2 SUT (Sport Utility Truck) have begun breaking in select markets nationwide. The SUT is a new version of the H2 that features a rear cargo bed area.
The 30-second commercials were created by independent Modernista! of Boston. One spot, "Scanner," depicts the SUT coming to life via an electric scanner.
In "Jungle," the viewer is taken into dense foliage to find an H2 surrounded by brush, and then discovers that it is the unusual new SUT.
Hummer's longtime tagline, "Like nothing else," closes the spots. The client, a unit of General Motors, spends about $100 million annually on ads.
""These new spots express that Hummer is a premium brand with creative, interesting and even surprising new ideas," said Liz Vanzura, director of marketing for Hummer, in a statement. "The spots communicate how Hummer's style and capability will appear in new shapes and sizes."
