NEW YORK The Coca-Cola Co. has created a new position to combine brand management duties for Coke Classic and Diet Coke, the company said.
Consequently, Coke worldwide CMO Dan Palumbo has tapped Marc Mathieu as vp, Coca-Cola Franchise, a new position within the Atlanta company's marketing division.
In an internal memo, Palumbo wrote of the decision, "Our success going forward for the Coca-Cola Franchise requires a shared vision for the brand's future, market-tested growth strategies, and dynamic and experienced leadership to focus the incredible resources of our system against this challenge."
Mathieu, an eight-year Coke veteran, had been president of Coke's France/Benelux division and has also worked in various operational positions in Asia and Europe. He reports to Palumbo, who credited his integrated summer marketing campaign in that region and his team's work with the local Coca-Cola Enterprises bottling partner.
