Deutsch has hired Kevin Drew Davis from Wieden & Kennedy to steer the creative
product of iDeutsch, its 4-year-old interactive division.
A former director of interactive development at Blue Marble here and most recently an interactive creative director at Wieden, Davis, 32, becomes creative director and senior vice president of iDeutsch, working closely with executive creative director Kathy Delaney.
Besides Wieden and Blue Marble, Davis has held interactive posts at The Richards Group and GSD&M. He is best known for his work on behalf of Procter & Gamble's Sunny Delight, Microsoft and Nike.
"Overall, everything he had done went so deep," said Delaney. She added that Davis' work did not just mirror general advertising but actually "sprung organically from the medium." One example: Sunny Delight, for which Blue Marble employed a treasure hunt concept.
Davis said he was attracted by the New York shop's dedication to integrated marketing. What's more, he said, "This is an agency that knows what it is and where it's going."
With estimated revenues of $7.3 million, iDeutsch works for the likes of Mitsubishi, Ikea, Bank One, Brink's Home Security and Britannica.com. Its staff has more than tripled to 80 people in the past year.
Since Deutsch takes an integrated approach to new business, Davis will also play a role on that front, said Peter Drakoulias, partner and director of business development.
