CHICAGO-Solutia, the freshly minted spinoff company of Monsanto, has put off its search for an advertising agency to relaunch Wear Dated carpeting, sources said last week.
Solutia, headquartered in Atlanta, was formed this summer. It is the former chemical business of St. Louis-based Monsanto.
In May, Monsanto requested proposals from several Atlanta and St. Louis agencies to handle an assignment to relaunch the Wear Dated label to the flooring trade [Adweek, June 16]. Sources said, however, that Solutia now intends to handle the name change through a public relations firm instead.
Monsanto and Solutia officials could not be reached for comment.
