DDB Needham here will set up a dedicated unit, Team U S West, to handle creative duties on the telecommunications company's estimated $70-80 million account, awarded last week.
Team U S West, based here and headed by senior vice president Michael Bollinger, could eventually grow to a staff of 50, said Ray Gillette, managing partner and president of integrated resources at the agency. DDB Needham will also open a Phoenix office to service the client's consumer and business divisions.
The separate group was created to meet the fast turnaround needs of the retail-oriented Englewood, Colo.-based Baby Bell, not to avoid a conflict with DDB Needham Dallas client
