In search of a new board member with a marketing background, Taco Cabana of San Antonio found support from an unlikely source.
KJS Marketing Communications Solutions chairman Lionel Sosa, founder of what is now Bromley, Aguilar & Associates in San Antonio, became the fifth member of the board of directors overseeing the Tex-Mex restaurant chain.
The announcement last week by Taco Cabana president and chief executive officer Stephen Clark did not come as a surprise to the client's Hispanic agency of record, Montemayor y Asociados. In fact, president Carlos Montemayor is one of those who recommended Sosa for the post.
Sosa, who could not be reached for comment, assumed his post Aug. 12.
"He brings a wealth of marketing knowledge and expertise in the Hispanic consumer to our company," said Clark, who has been long acquainted with Sosa. "We think this is a perfect fit for our concept."
