Apyron Technologies has awarded its marketing account to Cole Henderson Drake.
The Atlanta agency bested competition that included crosstown rivals Hood Marketing Solutions and Fleishman-Hillard.
Billings have been estimated at $1.5 million.
"CHD won because they got involved in everything from the literature down to the shipping, so that we could be represented in everything they do," said Sherry Odom, Apyron's director of corporate communications who oversaw the review. "We wanted someone who could understand our business and who had experience nationally."
The campaign will focus on print media. An initial flight will break early next year in financial publications such as The Wall Street Journal and Investor Daily, as well as trades targeting the b-to-b market.
"Ultimately, we'll go into consumer magazines," said John Drake, CHD's chairman and chief executive officer. "We want Apyron to become a household word."
Based here, Apyron develops "binding technologies" for the filtration and purification of water, air and other components used in industrial, environmental and medical processes.
The agency employed a team approach to win the account.
"We knew they needed public relations specialists and help with an [initial public offering]," said Drake. "[So] we joined with Jackson Spalding [for public relations] and the Carson Group in New York, which will guide the company's IPO."
