LOS ANGELES--After revamping its membership policy, The Los Angeles Creative Club has decided to throw a party in celebration.
The 19-year-old club previously relied upon a dues membership system.
The organization has adopted a donations system, Creative Club president Joe Bui said.
This automatically allows the entire Los Angeles creative community to be members of the club. Donations are made on an honor basis or as admission to various club events.
The club's first event to celebrate the restructuring will be the Los Angeles Creative Club Bash, to be held April 25 at 7:30 p.m. at the Bergamot Station in Santa Monica, Calif.
The event will feature four live bands and a free bar. Admission will be $10 each for members and one guest, and $30 for added guests.
To promote the event, red foam bricks were put on dining tables and humorous stickers went in rest rooms at the April 1 Belding awards in the Century Plaza Hotel in Century City.
The new membership system 'makes the club more vital,' Bui said. 'Now everyone feels more a part of the organization.'
