Red Hat has hired Pile and Co. to oversee its agency search to replace BaylessCronin.
A spokesperson at the Durham, N.C. developer of Linux operating systems and software confirmed that the company enlisted the Boston search firm to help it replace the Atlanta agency, which resigned the account a few weeks ago.
The spokesperson declined to put a figure on the account, which was originally estimated at $20 million but so far significantly less has been spent.
"We're looking for a successful, sophisticated agency that understands the unique [branding opportunities] of Red Hat," the spokesperson said. Representatives for Pile and Co. did not return calls by press time.
