Joins Publicis Technology as Creative Chief
SAN FRANCISCO--Pat Marcoccia has been hired by Publicis Technology as senior vice president and creative director. He starts work March 22.
Marcoccia's move to the San Francisco shop--the former office of Hodskins, Simone & Searls--comes less than a month after he stepped down as partner and executive creative director at Winkler Advertising, San Francisco [Adweek, Feb. 22].
He will fill a spot at Publicis Technology left vacant last November when Joe McCormack took a creative position with Doremus & Co., San Francisco, a financial industry-focused agency.
"Pat is a good cultural fit for our agency, both as a person and a professional," said David Hodskins, Publicis Technology's chief operating officer.
"One of his initial challenges here will be staffing up our creative department," Hodskins said. "We've left some spaces open while we searched for Joe's replacement because we thought they were the type of hires that a creative director should make."
Hodskins said the shop currently has seven creatives on staff and is looking for two or three more.
Another challenge for Marcoccia, Hodskins said, will be getting up to speed on Publicis Technology's interactive department. Interactive creative director Julie Kaufmann will report to Marcoccia, Hodskins said.
Among the shop's current assignments is interactive work supporting the global campaign for HP's personal computer division. That campaign was launched last month by sister agency Publicis & Hal Riney, San Francisco.
