If there's one thing Texans like the least about their state (well, this may bethe only complaint), it's the heat.
Now that temperatures are rising well into the 90s, it's time for Lone Star residents to prepare for summer and for T.U. (Texas Utilities) Electric to tout its maintenance program to improve the energy efficiency of home air conditioners.
In a new spot via Publicis in Dallas (the account was inherited from Evans Advertising in last year's Publicis-EvansGroup merger), an armadillo is seen trying to cross a Texas highway. A narrator informs viewers, "With the heat coming, now's a good time to make sure your air conditioning system is running efficiently.
"If last year was any indication, this summer could be a real scorcher."
The 30-second ad ends with the animal taking a few steps onto the pavement, and suffering a bout of hot foot. The armadillo says to himself--like probably many heat-weary residents do by July--"You'd think I'd learn by now."
