Netflix is bringing its Web subscription service to Norway, Denmark, Sweden and Finland by year’s end, the Los Gatos, Calif.-based firm announced this morning .
The company didn’t reveal pricing for the Nordic nations, though it charges $8 per month for unlimited online viewing of TV shows and movies in the United States. Consumers in the Northern European countries can sign up for an email alert to find out when service in their locale becomes available.
The move comes on the heels of disappointing Q2 earnings for the brand last month, including a 91 percent drop in net income.
Additionally, the Nordic expansion underscores how Netflix has been aggressive in extending its Internet subscription revenue streams internationally, adding Canada in 2010, Latin America last year, and the United Kingdom and Ireland in early 2012.
