Beth Waxman-Arteta, JWT’s chief marketing officer in New York, is leaving the agency after seven years. She has been in her current role less than a year after having served as co-president of client services.
JWT emailed a statement from Waxman-Arteta in which she wrote that in the short term, she planned to spend time helping grow her husband’s wine importing company. Leaving was a "difficult decision to make," she wrote. "But I felt it was time for me to make a change after a hard-charging seven years."
Waxman-Arteta, who joined JWT in 2005 from Euro RSCG, had handled accounts at the WPP agency like Merrill Lynch, Ford, Macy’s and Microsoft. She also played a role in business wins like Macy’s and Microsoft’s Bing business, which JWT lost last May .
The company said North American agency leaders would take responsibility for the new-business team reporting into David Eastman, the agency’s CEO of North America. Additionally, JWT said Dale Kirsop , the marketing director at JWT N.Y., is becoming the primary point of contact for new-business queries.
Waxman-Arteta is the second senior JWT exec to recently part ways with the agency. Last week JWT said Rob Quish,  the CEO of the agency’s Atlanta office would leave the company after seven years.
