U.K. fashion retailer Harvey Nichols' new commercial by DDB London for its womenswear line suggests its clothing always looks good, even the morning after a night of regrettable post-holiday-office-party sex. There's a fun holiday message for the kids! Of course, a real walk of shame should include either one of her date's T-shirts or a pair of his athletic shorts for maximum effect. Anyway, all impropriety aside, this ad has a lot to like—the playful tone, the diversity of body types, the gentle sense of awkwardness. But I think even a "stride of pride" is too modest an action for what should, after all, be a celebratory occasion. Following the example of sadly deceased independent wrestler Larry Sweeney, it should really be a strut [1] (skip to 0:46 to see what I'm talking about).
