Rush Limbaugh, hands down the biggest and highest-rated Talk personality in radio, has renewed his contract with Premiere Radio Networks and Clear Channel Radio. The long-term contract ensures that Limbaugh's show, perhaps the networks' biggest money-maker, remains in-house for "deep into the next decade."
Terms were not disclosed.
The deal includes continued syndication of The Rush Limbaugh Show, heard by 20 million weekly across 600 radio stations, and The Rush Limbaugh Morning Update, a 90-second commentary that airs weekdays. In partnership with Limbaugh, Premiere will also continue to oversee The Limbaugh Letter, a monthly newsletter and the RushLimbaugh.com Web site and related subscription service for premium content.
"The Rush Limbaugh Show enjoys an unprecedented platform of radio affiliates. Plus, advertisers harness the intensity of listener engagement. No one's 'word of mouth' about a product or service delivers more impact than Mr. Limbaugh's," said Charlie Rahilly, president of Premiere.
In August, The Rush Limbaugh Show will celebrate its 20th year on the air.
