WPIX, Tribune’s CW affiliate in New York, is killing its 6:30 p.m. newscast to focus on its morning and late newscasts.

Beginning June 28, the station will move Inside Edition at 6 p.m. to 4 a.m., to make way for back-to-back episodes of Friends. Inside Edition will move to 4 a.m. to lead-into PIX Morning News.
WPIX launched the 6:30 p.m. newscast in Sept. 2009, but ratings never caught on, bested by the network TV newscasts and other programming that aired opposite WPIX’s news.
