Gary Stone, president and chief operating officer of Univision Radio, is retiring from the Spanish-language media giant at the end of the year.
Stone spent 25 years with the company and its predecessor, Hispanic Broadcasting Corp., managing a portfolio of 68 stations in 16 of the top 25 Hispanic markets and five stations in Puerto Rico.
"With a career in radio spanning four decades, Gary has had a tremendous influence on the industry and has been a valuable member of the Univision team for many years. His leadership has resulted in significant growth of our radio operations and the success of many multiplatform efforts across the company," said Joe Uva, president and CEO of Univision Communications.
While the company searches for Stone's successor, Peter Walker, president of Univision Local Media, will oversee all operations and sales for the radio group, in addition to Univision's local TV stations and interactive properties.
