TNT made it a three-peat last week, putting together its third straight ratings win thanks to an exciting slate of NBA playoff games.
According to Nielsen Media Research data for the week ended May 18, TNT averaged 3.07 million total viewers, while sweeping the top three demos. The Turner net averaged 1.67 million adults 18-49 in prime time, and beat all comers among 25-54s (1.56 million) and 18-34s (855,000).
Four of the top 10 programs on ad-supported cable were to be found on TNT last week, including game five of the Western Conference semifinals, which saw the Los Angeles Lakers down the Utah Jazz by a score of 111-104. The May 14 contest drew 5.43 million viewers and 3.01 million adults 25-54, winning both categories.
Earlier that same night, 5.41 million fans tuned in to TNT to watch the Celtics beat the Cleveland Cavaliers 96-89, putting Boston within a win of the Eastern Conference finals. The game topped all comers among viewers 18-49, serving up 3.29 million.
