Time Warner Cable and Sinclair Broadcast Group added an extra day to negotiate a retransmission agreement for Sinclair’s 33 TV stations affecting 4 million cable subscribers. The new deadline is now 11:59 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 15.
“We’re still working hard to reach an agreement,” TWC said in a statement.
The original carriage deal between the two parties was set to expire on New Year’s Eve. Averting a blackout, the companies agreed to a two-week extension.
If unable to come to terms, TWC said it would continue to provide network TV programming from the big four TV networks, ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox.
