The nation’s major Spanish-language radio owners have formed an industry committee dedicated to protecting Spanish-language radio’s interests as Arbitron prepares to convert the top 50 markets to the electronic measurement using the portable people meter. Four groups make up the newly-created Spanish Radio Association, including Spanish Broadcasting System, Entravision Communications, Univision Communications and Border Media Partners.

All four have signed contracts with Arbitron for the PPM service.

The group’s first meeting with Arbitron was on June 6, where they urged Arbitron not to move forward with the rollout of the PPM.
