With an eye towards development for the 2009-2010 season, director/producer Barry Sonnenfeld has renewed his contract at Sony Pictures TV. Along with securing a first look at Sonnenfeld’s scripted ideas, the new one-year deal also includes non-scripted and digital projects.
Along with new development, Sonnenfeld is still attached to direct the SPT drama pilot The Kingdom. Earlier this year, CBS passed on the medieval-set project, which revolves around four men, one of whom is crowned king, However, Sony is reworking its concept and is planning to shoot the pilot in Europe this summer.
