Sinclair Broadcast Group announced Tuesday (June 24) that it has agreed to buy WTVR-TV, the CBS affiliate in Richmond-Petersburg, Va. from Raycom Media for $85 million. Because Sinclair cannot own two top-rated stations in a market, Sinclair also announced it will sell the
license assets of its Fox affiliate in the market, WRLH, to Carma Broadcasting.
Following the transactions, Sinclair will continue to provide sales and other non-programming-related services to WRLH via a local sales agreement.
