The Radio Advertising Bureau late Thursday (Jan. 15) confirmed it had eliminated five positions, a 10 percent reduction in staff.

The official announcement followed just hours after a false memorandum, charged with provocative language and purportedly from Jeff Haley, president and CEO, was widely distributed to email in-boxes of the press and others in the radio business.

The fake email named three individuals that were let go, along with their salaries, as part of a move to eliminate sexism in an organization that “continued to overpay a group of mediocre to sub-par ‘good ol’ boys.”
