NBC Local to Roll Out Access Hollywood Live

NBC Local Media is set to debut in September a new one-hour daily entertainment news talk show, Access Hollywood Live, on six NBC owned-and-operated stations. Broadcast live, the show will expand the Access Hollywood brand and bring viewers the latest celebrity dish; opinions; and female friendly segments on style, fashion and design.

Access Hollywood Live will be produced and distributed by NBC Universal Domestic Television Distribution. Rob K. Silverstein, executive producer of Access Hollywood and his production team will produce the program live from Los Angeles.

Stations lined up to carry the program are WNBC-TV New York, KNBC-TV Los Angeles, WMAQ-TV Chicago, KNTV-TV San Francisco, KNSD-TV San Diego and WVIT-TV Hartford (Conn.).

"The show is the latest investment we've made in daytime for our stations, and we look forward to its launch," said John Wallace, president of NBC Local Media.

Also in development is Daily Connection, a newsmagazine that draws on content from a number of NBCU sources, including Access Hollywood and NBC News. Daily Connection debuted on WRC, NBC's O&O in Washington, D.C., in mid-September as a replacement for Dr. Phil.

NBC Local Media recently renewed Access Hollywood, now in its 14th season of syndication, for its TV group through 2014. The program averages 2.5 million viewers daily, making it the No. 2 entertainment newsmagazine in syndication, per Nielsen.
