In advance of Lifetime’s Oct. 20 launch of original comedy Rita Rocks, the cable net has asked for three additional scripts of the series. Initially, the show received a 13-episode order.

The multicam comedy revolves around a harried suburban mom (played by MADtv’s Nicole Sullivan) who finds fulfillment by starting a rock band in her garage. It was created by Stan Zimmerman and Jim Berg, whose credits include Roseanne and The Golden Girls. Rita Rocks is co-owned by Lifetime and production company Media Rights Capital.
