ABC’s Better With You is the network’s only multi-cam comedy, while its three returning sitcoms—The Middle, Modern Family and Cougar Town—are all single-cam. But executive producers Shana Goldberg-Meehan and Greg Malins believe viewers will focus on the new show’s substance rather than its style.
Premiering Sept. 22, Better With You is an ensemble comedy that spans three generations—sort of a cross between Modern Family and Friends. Not surprisingly, it is the latter with which both Goldberg-Meehan and Malins are most closely associated, having written and produced on the now-classic series for much of its run.
