Mediaweek TV: Behind The Scenes of CW's Plain Jane

From What Not To Wear to Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, makeover shows have been a staple of nonscripted programming for the past decade.
 
But never has a makeover show focused on participants as young as the young women on The CW's summer series, Plain Jane, premiering July 28.
 
Hosted by Louise Roe, a British-born fashion journalist and TV personality, the six-episode series takes a half-dozen young female wallflowers and helps them to blossom—of course, all of it taking place in front of the cameras.
 
Now based in Los Angeles, Roe sat down with Mediaweek correspondent Alan Frutkin to talk about the series, its participants and the do's and don'ts of 21st-century fashion.
